🍞✨ Mrs. Clay’s Cheesy Garlic & Parsley Butter Pull-Apart Bread ✨🍞

Warm, Buttery, Cheesy Perfection — Made Easy

There are breads that taste good… and then there are breads that make the whole house smell like warmth, home, and love. This Cheesy Garlic & Parsley Butter Pull-Apart Bread is the second kind.

It’s soft, rich, golden, and full of cozy flavor — and the best part? It’s beautifully simple. Every slice is filled with melted cheese, fresh parsley, and buttery garlic goodness. It pulls apart effortlessly, making it perfect for Sunday suppers, pasta nights, or those evenings when you want something a little extra special on the table.

You can make it same day, or let the dough slow rise overnight in the fridge (my favorite — the flavor becomes even deeper and the dough is easier to handle).

Let’s bake something beautiful together. 💛

🍞 Mrs. Clay’s Cheesy Garlic & Parsley Butter Pull-Apart Bread

Soft, fluffy, buttery, and loaded with cheese. Make same day or overnight.

Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ tsp (7–8g) salt
  • 2 tsp (8g) instant or active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp (8–10g) sugar
  • 1⅓ cup (325g) warm milk
  • Optional but recommended:
  • 1 large egg If using egg, reduce milk by 2–3 tbsp
  • 75g softened butter (⅓ cup)

For the Garlic & Parsley Butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • A small drizzle of olive oil
  • ½ stick (50g) softened butter
  • Fresh chopped parsley
  • 150g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 50g white cheddar cheese, shredded
🥣 Instructions
⭐️ Step 1 — Make the Dough

Warm the milk and whisk in the sugar and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the softened butter, egg (if using), and yeast mixture. Mix and knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and stretchy. Cover and let rise until doubled.

⭐️ Step 2 — Make the Garlic Parsley Butter

Combine:

Softened butter Minced garlic Parsley Olive oil

Stir until creamy and spreadable.

⭐️ Step 3 — Shape the Bread

Roll your dough into a rectangle (about 10×18 inches). Spread the garlic-parsley butter evenly over the surface. Cover with shredded cheese. Cut dough into three rectangles. Stack one on top of the other. Slice into smaller rectangles. Stand the slices upright in a greased loaf pan. Let rise until puffy.

🍞 Baking Instructions

Bake at 375–400°F for 30–40 minutes.

Cover with foil halfway through if it browns quickly.

Let rest 10–15 minutes before pulling apart.

🌙 OVERNIGHT SLOW-RISE OPTION (Best Flavor)
Option A — Refrigerate the Dough

Mix and knead the dough. Place in a greased bowl, cover tightly. Refrigerate 8–24 hours. Remove from fridge, rest 45–60 minutes. Roll out → butter → cheese → roll → slice → arrange in loaf pan. Let rise 45–90 minutes. Bake as directed.

✨ This gives the softest, fluffiest loaf with the deepest flavor.

Option B — Assemble the Loaf, Then Refrigerate

Make dough → roll out → butter → cheese → slice and stack. Arrange in loaf pan. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. Let rise 1½–2 hours on the counter the next day. Bake.

✨ Very convenient — perfect for entertaining.

⏱ Same-Day Method (Quick Rise)

Make dough and let rise until doubled (45–90 minutes). Shape according to steps above. Let it rise again in the loaf pan until puffy (30–60 minutes). Bake normally.

🌸 Mrs. Clay’s Tips

Chill the cheese before shredding — cold cheese melts into beautiful pockets instead of disappearing into the dough. Brush with extra butter after baking for that glossy, bakery-style top. If the house is cold, let your loaf rise in the oven with just the light on — the perfect warm nook. This bread is wonderful alongside pasta, chicken dishes, soups, or simply with a pat of salted butter.

🌿 A Thought to Close the Day

There’s something comforting about a recipe that invites you to slow down — to knead gently, to let things rise in their own time, to fill your home with warm light and good smells.

May your kitchen feel peaceful, your table feel welcoming, and your loaf pull apart beautifully.
