🍔 Mrs. Clay’s Melty Ham & Provolone Sliders
Warm, buttery, crowd-pleasing sliders made with simple ingredients and lots of love

There’s just something joyful about pulling a warm tray of sliders out of the oven — glossy, golden tops… soft, melty centers… and that irresistible savory aroma that fills the whole kitchen. These Melty Ham & Provolone Sliders are one of my favorite easy dinners, perfect alongside a cozy bowl of soup, a big salad, or even on their own for game night or a quick family meal.
They’re layered simply but thoughtfully: sweet Hawaiian rolls, tender sliced ham, shredded provolone for the perfect “melty pull,” and a buttery Dijon glaze brushed over the tops. It’s an easy recipe that feels special — and it always disappears quickly.
🥪 Ingredients
Sliders
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls
- Mayonnaise (for the bottom layer)
- Sliced deli ham
- Shredded provolone cheese
- Sprinkle of onion powder
- Sprinkle of garlic powder
- Sprinkle of dried parsley
Butter Glaze
- ½ stick (¼ cup) unsalted butter, melted
- ½ tablespoon onion powder
- ¾ tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Splash of Worcestershire sauce
🍽️ Instructions
1. Prepare the Rolls
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally (keeping them connected).
Place the bottom half in a baking dish and spread a light layer of mayonnaise across the surface.
2. Add the First Layer of Ham & Cheese
Lay down a generous layer of sliced ham.
Top with a handful of shredded provolone — shredding your own makes it melt smooth, flowy, and beautifully even.
Season lightly with:
• onion powder
• garlic powder
• parsley
3. Add the Second Layer
Repeat with another layer of ham
and another layer of shredded provolone.
4. Warm the Base
Place just the bottom half (with the ham and cheese) into the oven for a few minutes until the cheese begins to melt and settle into the layers.
This step gives the sliders that extra melty pull everyone loves.
5. Make the Butter Glaze
Melt ½ stick butter and whisk in:
• onion powder
• Dijon mustard
• Worcestershire sauce
It becomes savory, fragrant, and perfect for brushing over the rolls.
6. Brush & Bake
Place the top half of the rolls onto the sliders.
Brush generously with the butter glaze.
Cover with foil and bake until warmed through, about 12–15 minutes.
Remove the foil for the last 2–3 minutes so the tops become glossy and lightly golden.
7. Serve Warm
Let the sliders rest for a minute or two, then slice and serve while beautifully melty.
💡 Tips & Variations
For extra cheesy sliders:
Add a mix of provolone + mild cheddar.
For a smoky flavor:
Try adding a tiny dash of smoked paprika to the butter glaze.
For crunch:
Top the sliders with leftover crispy onion tanglers right before serving.
For sweetness:
Add ¼ teaspoon brown sugar to the butter glaze — it caramelizes on the tops.
For kick:
Use pepper jack cheese or add a small squirt of spicy mustard.
💛 A Cozy Note
There’s something wonderfully comforting about a tray of warm sliders shared with the people you love. They’re simple, satisfying, and surprisingly elegant with their blend of buttery tops, melty cheese, and tender ham. Whether served next to a pot of soup or enjoyed on a quiet family night, these sliders bring joy to the table in the sweetest way.
With love,
Mrs. Clay 💐
